Linong Ding

A book design practice based on the story written by Edgar Allan Poe, The Fall of the House of Usher.

 

I tried to use Ukiyo-e-like lines. And the motions of characters are all selected from Butoh dance.

It is a 5-page art book, each page shows a few sentences form a poem in the story. In the story, fear builds gradually as the plot goes on. So I added a folded layer on each page, and hide the illustrations in the folding layers.
